Known for his erratic politics, unforeseeable behavior and verbal provocations, Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the USA throws the world into a panic.

A populist billionaire , an individualist protected by an entourage made up mostly of his family, an ad man who is compulsive when it comes to his own destiny, Donald Trump loves being hated by his own peeves: the political establishment, the American left wing and the intellectuals.

But beyond the way the media portray him, who really is Donald Trump? By exploring his personal history, the workings of his personality, the flaws and weaknesses he hides but also his qualities, this documentary provides a unique portrait of this man to understand how he got there.

Trump's Wealth

With her recent bombshell New York Times front-page story, investigative reporter Susanne Craig helped debunk President Trump’s claim of being a self-made billionaire. For more than a year, Craig and two colleagues followed an unwieldy paper trail, documenting deliberate tax manoeuvres that increased the wealth Trump received from his parents, including acts of outright fraud. Craig discusses the complexities of reporting on Trump, money and politics in this conversation with investigative journalist Julian Sher.

From his first days as president to his last, how Trump stoked division, violence and insurrection. FRONTLINE investigates Trump’s siege on his enemies, the media and even the leaders of his own party, who for years ignored the warning signs of what was to come.

The documentary, "You've Been Trumped Too," delves into the environmental and social disruption caused by Donald Trump's luxury golf course development in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. More than just a chronicle of a construction project, the film becomes a poignant exploration of power imbalances and the human cost of unchecked development.

At the heart of the story lies Molly Forbes, a spirited 92-year-old widow. Her life is thrown into disarray when the Trump Organization builds a road through her property, severing the water well that had sustained her for decades. The documentary paints a vivid picture of her struggle - collecting rainwater in buckets, facing the indignity of having to rely on bottled water for basic needs. Molly's story becomes emblematic of the wider impact on the community. Local residents report disrupted water supplies, raising concerns about the long-term viability of their homes and livelihoods.

The conflict escalates into a legal battle, with residents like David Milne fighting for their right to access water. The documentary features Andy Wightman, a member of the Scottish Parliament, who sheds light on the legal framework protecting water rights in Scotland. This legal struggle underscores the stark contrast between the residents, ordinary people fighting for their way of life, and the Trump Organization, a powerful corporation seemingly willing to prioritize profit over the well-being of a community.

Retribution: The Battle for Democracy

In the tumultuous landscape of American politics, few figures have sparked as much controversy and intrigue as Donald Trump. With his unorthodox approach to leadership, the former US president has carved out a unique niche in history that seems unlikely to be replicated by future leaders.

Now, even after four years and legal battles following the Capitol insurrection incident, Trump is preparing for what could potentially be an extraordinary political resurgence with a meticulously crafted plan - Project 2025.

Mark Willacy sheds light on this unprecedented journey and its implications both domestically and internationally, as Trump attempts to reconstruct the nation in his image while also seeking to expand his power within American democracy. As he prepares for a second term bid ahead of November's elections, Willacy engages with White House insiders who either support Trump’s vision or are now labeled "traitors" by him.

Four Corners ABC News In-depth

Featuring insights from top experts like Georgetown historian Thomas Zimmer, Slate’s Dahlia Lithwick, Rep. Jared Huffman, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, UC Davis law professor Mary Ziegler and more. The video breaks down how this plan aims to centralize presidential power, dismantle social and governmental institutions, and enforce a regressive social order. The episode highlights the various conservative policies promoted by Project 2025, discusses its potential impacts on American society, and calls for viewers to take action by voting and supporting transparency in political contributions.

The definitive behind-the-scenes story of Trump's final year in office, by Phil Rucker and Carol Leonnig, the Pulitzer-Prize winning reporters and authors of A Very Stable Genius.

Instant number one New York Times and Wall Street Journal best seller.

From the Washington Post journalists Yasmeen Abutaleb and Damian Paletta - the definitive account of the Trump administration’s tragic mismanagement of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the chaos, incompetence, and craven politicization that has led to more than a half million American deaths and counting.

New York Times bestselling author Nina Burleigh weaves together the key narrative strands to create an uncompromising and highly informed expose about our shared global pandemic experience and what it means for our future

At the start of 2020, COVID-19 was a loaded gun aimed directly at the United States. Then Donald Trump pulled the trigger.

This book tells that story, of what he did and the terrible human tragedy that he caused.

Two former high-profile Trump aides, Omarosa Manigault Newman and Anthony Scaramucci, have turned on the President and are now revealing damaging details about the inner workings of the White House. And as Karl Stefanovic reports, one of the most embarrassing claims is that the supposed “unbreakable” alliance between our two countries, far from being Trumped, was almost dumped.

More Books (in random order)

The premise: Legendary journalist Bob Woodward uses his White House reporting (including, allegedly, an interview with Trump himself) to offer up a narrative on the president's responses to the many challenges of 2020.

The premise: Woodward's first exposé of the current administration came from hundreds of hours of interviews with key staffers in the White House.

The scoop: Generally, Woodward described incompetencies and systemic dysfunction in the Oval Office — more specifically, he claimed then-Secretary of Defense Jim Matthis described Trump as having the understanding of "a fifth or sixth-grader."

2021 - BOB WOODWARD’S REVEALING NEW BOOK ABOUT THE TRUMP-BIDEN TRANSITION

Many of the thousands of books about Donald Trump that have seen the light of day in recent years—Amazon lists more than 30,000—were written by people with an axe to grind or a reputation to restore. Not so Bob Woodward’s Peril, coauthored with fellow Washington Post journalist Robert Costa. It’s the story of the Trump-Biden transition, not a rehash of the four years of Trump’s time in the White House. The book covers the dangerous time from November 3, 2020 to the summer of 2021 as the 45th president left office and the 46th moved into the White House. And most of the sources the authors use to describe the scene inside the Trump Administration are Right-Wing Republicans who were among the president’s most outspoken supporters.

The Trump Tapes explodes with the exclusive, inside story of Trump’s performance as president—in his own words as he is questioned, even interrogated by Woodward, on the president’s key responsibilities from managing foreign relations to crisis management of the coronavirus pandemic.

We all witnessed some of the most shocking and confounding political events of our lifetime: the careening last stage of Donald J. Trump’s reelection campaign, the president’s audacious election challenge, the harrowing mayhem of January 6, the buffoonery of the second impeachment trial. But what was really going on in the inner sanctum of the White House during these calamitous events? What did the president and his dwindling cadre of loyalists actually believe? And what were they planning?

The premise: Author Michael Wolff wrote one of the very first tell-alls from within the Trump administration — he conducted 200-plus interviews, the results of which were contested by several subjects.

The scoop: Despite its controversy over Wolff's reporting and fact-checking procedures, Fire and Fury made plenty of waves. For starters, the book alleged that Trump, er, doesn't really read.

The premise: The former FBI director, who was fired and then subsequently became a key figure in Robert Mueller's investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election, poured his grievances onto the page.

The scoop: Comey talked a lot about ethics (or lack thereof), interest in the truth (or lack thereof), and warned about the country's eventual destabilization. But most importantly, Comey alleged that Trump asked him to help get rid of that whole "pee tape" debacle.

The premise: An as-yet-unnamed member of the administration offers their tell-all with, well, you know.

The scoop: Nearly everything in the book is off the record, but the first page really sets the tone. The author divulged that, early on in Trump's presidency, the entire cabinet staff considered walking off the job to prove a point.

The premise: Former National Security Advisor John Bolton wrote a book that's not even a little bit about Hamilton. But news of its pending release broke during the impeachment trial, which was cool.

The scoop: Most of the revelations had to do with (obviously) national security, like Trump's meddling with investigations into China and Turkey. Earlier this summer, the administration tried to block the book's publication, citing an NDA Bolton signed, but they were overruled.

Trump’s former personal attorney and self-described fixer revealed that Trump allegedly wanted to install a new U.S. attorney in the southern district of New York over fears he would be indicted. "The reason the President wanted a new head prosecutor in the Southern District, I knew better than anyone, was so that while in office, he could arrange to be federally indicted. In the event he loses the election in November, he could then pardon himself, as he’s long claimed to be his right,"

The man the New York State Attorney General credited with inspiring her prosecution of Donald Trump — New York Times number one bestselling author Michael Cohen — tells the behind-the-scenes story of what can happen to you — and what really happened to him — when a President who believes himself to be above the law decides to go after his critics . . . .

The former FBI counterintelligence agent, who was removed from Robert Mueller's Special Counsel investigation and later fired when personal texts by Strzok critical of Trump were discovered, writes about investigating Russian interference in America's elections. (He has since sued the Justice Department and FBI over his termination, arguing it was politically motivated.) Strzok writes in the book out in September: “Given what we knew or had cause to suspect about Trump’s compromising behavior in the weeks, months, and years leading up to the election, moreover, it also seemed conceivable, if unlikely, that Moscow had indeed pulled off the most stunning intelligence achievement in human history: secretly controlling the president of the United States — a Manchurian candidate elected.

This dynastic history by a trained psychologist authoritatively diagnoses Trump’s sickness: Donald, as his niece Mary calls him with casual contempt, is a damaged individual, emotionally stunted and morally warped by his upbringing, who has infected the US with his own “toxic positivity”. Aware of her wicked uncle’s vindictiveness, Mary says that if he’s re-elected she intends to apply for a British passport. Let’s hope she will not be driven to such an act of reckless desperation.

The premise: The president's niece, a clinical psychologist, airs her family's dirty laundry — and her professional opinions on her uncle.

The scoop: The younger Trump diagnoses the POTUS with narcissistic personality disorder and also says he once complimented her breasts when she was younger.

For four years, Donald J. Trump inflicted an onslaught of overlapping and interconnected traumas upon the American people, targeting anyone he perceived as being an "other" or an enemy. Women were discounted and derided, the sick were dismissed as weak and unworthy of help, immigrants and minorities were demonized and discriminated against, and money was elevated above all else. In short, he transformed our country into a macro version of his malignantly dysfunctional family.

With revealing, never-before-told stories, Fred C. Trump III, nephew of President Donald Trump, breaks his decades-long silence in this honest memoir and sheds a whole new light on the family name.

Cassidy Hutchinson’s desk was mere steps from the most controversial president in recent American history. Now, she provides a riveting account of her extraordinary experiences as an idealistic young woman thrust into the middle of a national crisis, where she risked everything to tell the truth about some of the most powerful people in Washington.

Published soon after the inauguration, this anthology of Trump’s bird-brained tweets extends backwards to the early days when, like a door-to-door salesman too shiftless to leave home, he used Twitter to tout the shoddy merchandise he and Melania were marketing on the Shopping Network. Oborne and Roberts usefully memorialise Trump at his most naively tawdry, and preserve some treasurable illiteracies. I love the moment when he berates the Chinese for committing an “unpresidented act” by confiscating a US navy drone – a precedent for his own imminent unpresidenting?

This anatomy of moral cowardice and seamy self-interest watches the Republicans shrug off their principles as they surrender to Trump’s hostile takeover of their party and make “a deal with the devil”. The obsequious Mike Pence once told friends that he “loathed Trump”, and Lindsey Graham aptly defined him as “a race-baiting, xenophobic religious bigot”; then they and their cronies got down to some slavish bootlicking. It will be fun to watch them belying their lies if and when he loses.

A while ago, updating his claim to be a genius, Trump invited us to admire his “magnificently brilliant” answers in a television interview; I’d rather trust his former secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, who viewed him as “a fucking moron”. This book is the blackest of comedies, nihilistically hilarious in its documentation of Trump’s incompetence. Rucker and Leonnig also give us a glimpse of his sulphurous cynicism as he sneers at the suckers who voted for him. “I’m a total act,” he told his director of communications, Anthony Scaramucci, “and I don’t understand why people don’t get it.”

Among all the “haters”, as Trump petulantly calls his critics, Fountain is the most lethal. His descriptions of the man are an exercise in black magic, and every metaphor is a graphic curse: head like a battering ram, eyes of a garbage-guzzling raccoon, hair sculpted by a flamethrower, verbal drivel like a slurry. But the anger is justified by an underlying grief. Fountain’s book, derived from articles commissioned by the Guardian, broods about an ideal America that Trump has defiled and debased, perhaps irreparably.

A hollow machismo was always crucial to Trump’s belligerent brand, and Stormy Daniels nimbly punctures his virile posing. She giggles at Trump’s unimpressive tackle, deplores his lack of coital stamina, and grimaces at the puddle he leaves on her tummy. Worst of all is his whiny plea for a second date. Trump told the journalist Bob Woodward that he wanted to be feared, which is the hope of all would-be autocrats; the way to bring him down, as Stormy realises, is not to shudder in alarm but to shake with incredulous mirth.

Souza, Obama’s official photographer, here compiles a hagiographic gallery of the previous president enlightening the world, quietly communing with colleagues, or just doing his job. Splenetic quotes from Trump or tabloid headlines about his antics are placed on the facing pages, so that he skulks in Obama’s shadow. Here is the ultimate insult to this obese, superannuated popinjay: the book renders him invisible, as if flushing him away into oblivion.

Wolkoff went scorched earth on her ex-BFF of nearly two decades in this vengeful tell-all, out in September. Wolkoff wrote that she adored Melania Trump and took on Herculean tasks, like helping to organize the inauguration and the first lady's office, and then was “betrayed” and fired when the Presidential Inaugural Committee came under scrutiny. "What a fool I was thinking I could make a difference in the middle of this den of thieves," she writes. Melania Trump called the book "idle gossip trying to distort my character.

The former deputy director of the FBI, who was fired by Trump just 26 hours before his scheduled retirement, recounts in detail the time between Trump’s election and his own firing, and argues that his former boss and his administration are the greatest threat to American democracy. Of the president’s derogatory tweets leveled at him, McCabe writes, “It is meaningless to be called a liar by the most prolific liar I have ever encountered.

Scaramucci spent only 11 tumultuous days as White House communications director before he was dismissed, but his 2018 book provides a glimpse of his time on Trump’s campaign, outlining his former boss’ appeal to working-class Americans. He also claims former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon were responsible for his quick ouster in July 2017. "The town is like the writers from 'Game of Thrones' joined the writers from 'The Hunger Games' and 'VEEP' to write an episode of 'House of Cards,'" Scaramucci writes. "It's not a matter of if you're going to get (expletive) in Washington, it's a matter of when. For me, the countdown clock started to tick the moment Trump gave me the job.

Omarosa, an "Apprentice" contestant turned assistant to the president got in on the Trump book game early after her resignation was announced in 2017 (code for "You're fired"). She published her book the following year saying she “escaped from the cult of Trumpworld.” Trump, Omarosa wrote, has changed. “The Donald Trump of 2003 was as smart and as shrewd as he claimed to be.” Omarosa claimed Trump rambles and often speaks “gibberish,” and flies into rages when upset. “I seriously began to suspect the president was delusional or had a mental condition, that made him forget from one day to the next,” she wrote.

New York Times bestselling author Sarah Kendzior documents the truth about the calculated rise to power of Donald Trump since the 1980s and how the erosion of our liberties made an American demagogue possible.

From the Pulitzer-Prize-winning New York Times reporter who has defined Donald J. Trump's presidency like no other journalist, Confidence Man is a magnificent and disturbing reckoning that chronicles his life and its meaning from his rise in New York City to his tortured post-presidency.

Few journalists working today have covered Donald Trump more extensively than Maggie Haberman. And few understand him and his motivations better. Now, demonstrating her majestic command of this story, Haberman reveals in full the depth of her understanding of the 45th president himself, and of what the Trump phenomenon means.

TRUMPOCRACY: THE CORRUPTION OF THE AMERICAN REPUBLIC BY DAVID FRUM

2018 - David Frum is a card-carrying conservative, or neoconservative, if you prefer the current jargon. He wrote speeches for George W. Bush and served as a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. Trumpocracy is a wide-ranging look at the damage Donald Trump and his appointees inflicted on the country during his years in office.

2018 - WITH “POLITICAL TERMITES,” DONALD TRUMP IS UNDERMINING OUR GOVERNMENT

It’s Even Worse Than You Think spotlights the policies Trump promoted and the people he named to senior positions in government. The picture is devastating. As Johnston notes at the outset, “the Trump presidency is unlike anything that came before, a presidency built on open public contempt for Constitutional principles.”

2018 - DONALD TRUMP’S PLAYBOOK REVEALED IN A PENETRATING NEW BOOK, “HOW FASCISM WORKS.” Let’s get real. What the news media and the pundits call populism these days is actually something more familiar to European historians. It’s fascism. And it’s high time for Americans to recognize that. Of course, this doesn’t mean that the politics of the Trump Administration represented full-blown fascism of the sort represented by Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, or Imperial Japan in the World War II era. It simply means that Donald Trump and his counterparts in such countries as Brazil, Hungary, Italy, and Poland use the political tactics and techniques pioneered by the fascists in the 1920s and 30's.

Michael C. Bender, senior White House reporter for the Wall Street Journal, presents a deeply reported account of the 2020 presidential campaign that details how Donald J. From the Pulitzer Prize-winning reporters behind the 2018 bombshell New York Times exposé of then-President Trump’s finances, an explosive investigation into the history of Donald Trump’s wealth, revealing how one of the country’s biggest business failures lied his way into the White House.
